Critical Thinking and Reading: what, why and how to read.

Critical Thinking and Reading: what, why and how to read. Online

Novice/ Intermediate / Advanced Level:  Attempting to read academic literature may seem overwhelming and confusing. Should you read a text from beginning to end? How do you know which bits are the most relevant? In this workshop you will learn why it’s important to use academic literature in your assignments and what are the sources you should be reading. You will discover some of the key approaches to reading such as skimming, scanning and intensive reading.  The workshop will also cover tips for reading critically and how to effectively manage your academic reading.

The workshop is a 45 minute presentation with additional time for questions and answers.

You will receive an email, after registering, confirming you have a place on the workshop. The link to the Teams room will be in a reminder email which will be sent out two hours before the event, so please make sure that you enter your unimail email address in the correct format: xxxxxxx@unimail.derby.ac.uk.

You can also register using your personal email if preferred.

All workshops are recorded and will be emailed to all registrants after the event along with any relevant materials used during the workshop.
