Using the PRISMA Flow Diagram with your assignment, dissertation, thesis, or literature review

Using the PRISMA Flow Diagram with your assignment, dissertation, thesis, or literature review Online

**Please note: Sessions are subject to change if unforeseen circumstances arise. Please register for the session to ensure you receive updates via email.**

This 45-minute workshop +Q&A will cover what the PRISMA Flow Diagram is, where you can find it, and how to use it in your work.

Although PRISMA was designed specifically for use with systematic reviews it can also be a useful tool for postgraduates conducting searches to support their thesis, and even final year undergraduates doing their dissertation or final year project. In fact, it can be useful for documenting any kind of systematic search process.

No prior knowledge or use of PRISMA is required for this session. Although information for this session will be taken from the results of database searches, no searching instruction will be covered in this session. (Please look at the Develop@Derby events calendar for details of specific, database centric searching sessions.)

You attend the session online via Teams. If you have connection problems, or you can't hear the presenter / see the slides, then the first thing to do would be to try an alternate browser although Chrome / Firefox are usually the most stable.

  • You will receive a confirmation email when you register.
  • 2 (two) hours before the event you will receive a reminder email which will include the Teams link for you to join with.

You will need to set up your device's audio / video before you get started so make sure you have a microphone & speakers / headphones to interact. (Although if you wish you can use the built-in chat feature instead and your questions will be answered towards the end of the session.)

You must register for this session; it will be recorded and all registrants will receive a link to the recording to go back over in their own time.

Please ensure that you put your university email address in correctly - it should end @unimail.derby.ac.uk if you're a student.

Please note that we do not issue certificates of attendance for these workshops.
