*Special AI event - Pizza and Prizes* Three short informative talks on AI - OL2 and Online In-Person / Online
Join us for a special in person (KR OL2) and online (Teams) event featuring three quick fire talks on AI from across the university on topics useful to all students towards the end of the semester. We will have pizza and four £25 prize vouchers to give away at the event.
Please note: Whilst we are accepting further in person registrations the catering orders have been finalised as off Friday 15th November 12pm. You are still welcome to register, however we won't be able to adapt our food order further.
Topics discussed include:
1. An Introduction to Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) at University. A showcase of how you can use AI for your assessments and advice on prompt engineering. Delivered by Alexander Wood, Academic Librarian for Skills & Develop@Derby (25 minutes + questions).
2. Ethical Use of AI - Now that you know how to use AI, what are the rules for using AI so that you don't breach any of the University Academic Regulations. Delivered by Chris Bell, Senior Learning Technologist for Digital Practice (25 minutes + questions).
3. AI in Industry and applications. An overview of the do's and don'ts of using AI to apply for jobs. Delivered by the Sam Lucas from the Careers and Employment Service (25 minutes + questions).
4. AI Discussions and Stands - Speak to staff and students from across the university about AI whilst enjoying refreshments.
Please register for the workshop either as attending in person at OL2, or online via Microsoft Teams. If you cannot make the session live, please register as attending online to receive recordings of the three sessions and information ahead of the event.
