Copyright For Humans In-Person
Do you give a fig about copyright? Does the thought of someone reproducing your work without your permission keep you awake at night? Is copyright just a load of bla, bla, bla? If the thought of copyright makes you: a) yawn, b) run for the hills in fear, c) Keep Calm and Carry On infringing, or d) sit on the edge of your seat with excitement, then this new copyright card game is for you!
'Copyright for Humans' workshop encourages you to creatively respond to an array of copyright scenarios set in an academic context by choosing an answer that reflects how you feel from a variety of answers available. Maybe you blissfully agree that 'the idea of abolishing copyright altogether is' 'an excellent idea' or maybe you are unsure and want to use the 'I'm not answering this without my lawyer present' card, or perhaps you heartily disagree and think that this is 'an action with devasting consequences'! However you feel, this card game will encourage you to think about different types of answers, share your thoughts with others and discover more about copyright in the process.
Join us on Tuesday 11th November 10.30-12.00pm in the Library, room L102, where we can play, laugh and talk about the wonderful world of copyright! This session will be important for all - undergraduates, postgraduates, researchers and academics and will be facilitated by the University's Copyright Officer. This session will support your development in the Vitae RDF descriptor Research: Knowledge & practice 2.4 Digital & technological capabilities and Research: Research management 3.5 Research integrity & ethics.
