Wikipedia Edit-a-thon

Wikipedia Edit-a-thon In-Person

Wikipedia is one of the most widely-used resources in the world – but there’s always room for improvement, and you can play your part! Ever been curious about how Wikipedia works? Ever wondered how to edit Wikipedia or create your own articles? Come along to this all-day event and find out!

Only 17% of Wikipedia's biographies are about women, so on International Women's Day we're doing our bit to increase that number: writing new articles or improving existing ones, or even just copyediting and adding citations. Library and Study Skills staff will be on hand, together with volunteer Wikipedians, to help you get to grips with Wikipedia behind the scenes!

Please bring your own laptop - we will have limited numbers available. Early birds will get free badges and drinks vouchers!

This is an all-day event, but no booking is required. Feel free to drop in for as little or as long as you want! We have more information on the Wikipedia page we have created for the event here.

NOTE: It is a good idea to register for a Wikipedia account beforehand - you can do so at the following link: Create Account
