Research Support Librarian Clinic [online]

Research Support Librarian Clinic [online] In-Person

Weekly drop-in session for PhD & MPhil students and research staff.

You can join this online session (delivered through Blackboard Collaborate) at any point during the allocated hour. Come along with any questions you have regarding finding / using / selecting / managing resources for your research.and get the opportunity to ask your Research Support Librarian, Lisa Ferrari, directly.

I can offer guidance with:

  • Tips for searching Library Plus and databases effectively
  • Finding books and journal articles for your research
  • Developing your search strategy
  • Carrying out your literature review
  • Managing your references

Please come with a clear idea of what you want help with - this is a Q&A clinic, not a workshop. If your question or support need is lengthy or complicated, we may recommend you book an individual appointment as a follow-up.

There are also lots of guides to support your with your research which you can access via the LibGuides page (here).

The clinic is delivered via Blackboard Collaborate. You will not need to download any software as everything should take place within your browser and you will receive a link to the online room in the confirmation email.

If you have problems connecting to the room this can sometimes be improved by switching to an alternate browser; Chrome works best.

Please register for the session.

You attend the clinic online via Blackboard Collaborate. You don't need to download anything, it all takes place in your browser, but if you have connection problems then the first thing to do would be to try an alternate browser although Chrome / Firefox are the most stable.

You will need to set up your device's audio / video before you get started so make sure you have a microphone & speakers / headphones to interact. (Although if you wish you can use the built-in chat feature instead)

Please be aware that we are unable to offer support in proofreading your work.
