Google for Researchers

Google for Researchers Online

This session is intended for academic research staff and postgraduate research students.

The session will cover how to use Google and Google Scholar effectively for the purposes of research, including how to target and filter your search results using advanced search techniques.

The session will also show you how to stay up to date with publications in your field through the use of citation links and search alerts.

You will be shown how to link Google to your university library account.

We will also explore the recent addition of the Public Access (Open Access) feature and what it means for you as a researcher.

Please be advised that this session will not cover any subject specific guidance for undergraduate or masters level study. Please consult the Enhance Your Learning calendar of events which are run by our fantastic Academic Librarians for further information: https://libcal.derby.ac.uk/calendar/events?cid=4256&t=d&d=0000-00-00&cal=4256&inc=0
