POSTPONED - Inclusive Literature Searching Online
With apologies - this session is postponed due to staff illness. An email has been sent to all those registered - the session will be re-scheduled.
**********************************************************************************
As a researcher what steps can you take to find all the literature relevant to your search? Have you ever thought about the systems we use to find journal articles and other outputs – how they choose what to include and how they classify it? Does your work cite research that incorporates alternative ways of thinking?
This session addresses inclusivity and language equality in literature searching. The session will offer practical tips on:
-analysing the scope of your literature search / sources
-searching for grey literature, such as guidelines and policy documents
-taking advantage of database features e.g. geographic searches, language filters
The session should be of interest to research active students and staff, and those interested in exploring the academic publishing ecosystem generally. There will be an opportunity for questions and discussion, and your input is most welcome!
