Literature Searching in Practice: Westlaw In-Person

Our Literature Searching in Practice workshops are designed to help you make sense of academic databases and refine your searching skills so you can take your research to the next level.
This interactive session will provide practical searching advice and demonstrate effective use of the Westlaw UK database - a legal research service and professional database of case law, statutes, abstracts, regulations, and legal analysis, that also provides up-to-date legal information for multiple jurisdictions, including the US, UK, and EU.
Our Skills Librarians will introduce you to the database, propose a research question, and demonstrate effective use of key terms, operators and filters to locate useful, accurate information.
This session will be useful to students undertaking a Law degree or research about current UK, EU, or US law.
