Skills in the Wild: Part One In-Person
Ever wondered how the skills you're developing at university show up in everyday life?
Join Transferable Skills in the Wild, a relaxed and interactive 30-minute session exploring how skills like communication, resilience and critical thinking are used in different situations, from university projects and volunteering to work, hobbies and entrepreneurial ideas.
We'll explore what transferable skills really are, why they're important, and how they can help you navigate an ever-changing world. We'll also discuss the growing role of AI and consider the skills that make us uniquely human.
As part of the session, you'll take on a challenge for the rest of the day: connect with someone who you might think is "out or reach" who genuinely interests you. It could be a staff member, an employer, or even an astronaut. The aim is simple: start a meaningful conversation, practise your people skills, and see what you can learn from the experience.
Skills you'll explore and develop:
- Communication
- Building Relationships
- Critical Thinking
- Future Thinking
- Resilience
- Adaptability
Book your place and see where one conversation takes you.
For the best experience, we recommend attending both Part One and Part Two of this workshop.
